Global Roots is an innovative children’s charity that is based on the work of Tendol Gyalzur, a Tibetan woman who has adopted more than 250 orphaned children on the Tibetan Plateau. Tendol’s selfless nature inspired Global Roots’ founder Rick Montgomery to create a children’s charity that would support local humanitarians who are already helping children -- not just talking about it. Today, Rick and a powerful team of volunteers spend a great deal of time making sure that at least 90% of all Global Roots donations reach projects, not central administration. Every year Global Roots sends teams of young volunteers into the field to help hardworking local humanitarians like Tendol improve the living conditions of the world’s most forsaken children. This includes the planting of “children’s gardens” – an effective tool to bring nutrition and emotional support to abandoned children. To learn more go to GlobalRoots.org
